Kingdoms of Garda
Humans are the most diverse race of Garda. In the far north the Skjall are tall and strong, with fair skin and hair, while the Getti are nearly as pale with dark hair. However, intermarriage over the centuries has begun to blend the physical traits of their people. Further south, the wide plains of the Almany have made them tall and tanned with severe features. On the Isles of Velos the people have olive skin, and black hair, and stand shorter than other humans. To the south, the people of the Old Thulnarion Empire range in hues from the olive skin of the Illosan Sea region, to the brown of the deserts, and the black of peoples even farther south among the jungles and savannas.
Alternate Traits for the Almany:
Hatred (Westmarch): Westmarchers gain a +1 racial bonus on attack rolls against goblinoids. This trait replaces Industrious.
Emissary (Minara): Once per day, a Minaran can roll twice when making a Bluff or Diplomacy check and take the better result. This trait replaces Industrious.
Conviction (Delmar): If a Delmaran fails a save to resist a spell or spell-like ability of the enchantment (charm) or enchantment (compulsion) subschools, they receive another save 1 round later to prematurely end the effect. This trait replaces Industrious.
Journeyman (Baerun): Baerunians gain a +2 racial bonus to one Craft or Profession skill of their choice, and this skill is always a class skill. Furthermore, this character begins as a member of one of Baerun’s prestigious guilds and gains a +2 to Diplomacy checks against others affiliated with the guilds.
Alternate traits for the Getti:
Bog-Strider: Some Gett can’t be slowed down by the natural impediments of their home. They can move through natural difficult terrain at their normal speed while within hill, swamp, or forest regions (player’s choice, but this choice must match the choice made for the Bogfolk racial trait). This trait replaces Mist Warrior.
Alternate traits for Lituricans:
Trustworthy: Some Lituricans have learned how to take advantage of the natural trust others put in their people. They gain a +2 racial bonus on bluff checks to convince an opponent that what they are saying is true when they tell a lie. This trait replaces Zeal.
Alternate traits for the Skjall
Mountain Folk: Skjall who grew up in mountain homes alongside their dwarven kin gain a +2 racial bonus to Climb checks. Furthermore, they are immune to altitude sickness and do not lose their Dexterity bonus to AC when making Climb checks or Acrobatics checks to cross narrow or slippery surfaces. This trait replace Sea Reaver.
