Kingdoms of Garda
Orcs stand well over six feet tall on average, with the shortest orcs being as tall as the tallest humans, and the Korukhal stand even taller than the northern brethren. They are universally broad and muscular, with notable tusks jutting from their lower jaw, giving them an intimidating appearance. Their skin tones are typically gray to brown, though some of those orcs that live underground in the north are near-white. The tribes of the north are notoriously covered in thick coarse hair.
Alternate Racial Traits
Brutish: Some orcs are paragons of primal strength, and not much else. Such an orc’s ability score modifiers become +4 Str, -2 Int, -2 Wis, -2 Cha. This replaces an orc’s standard ability score modifiers. Less than a quarter of all Korukhal possess this trait, while approximately half of the Norgrim Hill Tribes do, and nearly all of those among the Moraga and Mammoth Lords do.
Sacred Armorer: From birth some orcs were destined for the sacred task of crafting arms and armor. Orcs with this trait gain a +2 racial bonus on all Craft checks to create weapons or armor. In addition they gain a +1 racial bonus to caster level when casting spells that target weapons or armor. This trait replaces Intimidating.
Deep Orc: The eyes of orcs raised in deep caverns have adapted to seeing without light. Orcs with this racial trait can see in the dark up to 60 feet, but also gain light sensitivity, and are dazzled as long as they remain in areas of bright light. This trait replaces an orc’s Low-Light Vision. This trait is most common among some of the northern tribes, such as the Moraga.
Linebreaker: A favored tactic of orcish shock troops is to toss the defensive lines of their foes to the side, clearing the way for the rest of their forces to crush all resistance. Orcs with this racial trait gain a +2 racial bonus on combat maneuver checks made to bull rush or overrun an opponent. This trait replaces Fearless.
Scavenger: Orcs who grow up outside of their clan often have to learn how to survive on what they can they find in a hostile world. These orcs gain a +2 racial bonus on Appraise and Perception checks to find hidden objects (including traps and secret doors), determine whether food is spoiled, or identify a potion by taste. This trait replaces Weapon Familiarity.
Thick Skin: Whether through intentional scarring or merely being born with thick skin, some orcs can shrug off blows easier than others. Orcs with this racial trait gain a +1 natural armor bonus to their AC. This trait replaces Weapon Familiarity.
Tough: Some orcs have always relied on their natural toughness to whether any storm. Orcs with this racial trait gain a +1 racial bonus on Fortitude saves. This trait replaces Fearless.
